My Mom has left such an amazing legacy of faithfulness and much joy over the years. She taught me how to live a life of faith and from her I learned the wonder of internal beauty.
She was always there when I needed her. Now I’m glad to be there for her as the Lord has been faithful to her and given her a long life.
Just as she prayed powerful prayers over me in my youth, I have now learned to pray powerful prayers for my mom.
One of my best memories from youth is how she and dad would teach us to pray to the Father of Lights in whom there is no shadow of turning. (James 1:17)
I learned that the Father’s ear is always open to hear from his children and he is always near. He is as near as his word that we learned from the Bible verses mom and dad shared with us growing up.
We can approach Him in our time of need, knowing that he hears us and answers every heartfelt prayer.
Here is a list of twelve powerful prayers for mothers. Since I have family members with different circumstances, I included prayers for moms in other circumstances, too.
1. Prayer for Healing for My Mom
Heavenly Father, I come before you with an expectant heart, seeking your divine intervention and healing touch for my dear mother. I know by the stripes of Christ we are healed.
I ask that you extend your loving arms of healing and mercy to her in this time of need.
Lord, I know that your ways are higher than ours, and I trust that you have a plan and a purpose for her life. May she find peace and comfort in your loving arms, knowing that you –the great healer- are with her every step of the way.
I lift her up to you, Lord, and pray for her complete healing and restoration. Thank you for your love and faithfulness, and I pray this in Jesus’ name.

2. Prayer for Longevity for My Mom
Heavenly Father, I come before you with a humble heart, asking that you give my precious mother a life full of years and years full of life!
I ask Lord that by your Holy Spirit, you show mom how to draw closer to you in grace and wisdom each day. Show her how to grow deeper in trust and deeper in gratitude with each passing moment.
May my beautiful mom continue to glorify your mighty name through her actions, thoughts, and words, and may she be a shining light in the lives of those around her.
I ask that you watch over her and protect her from any harm, and that you provide her with all that she needs to live a life of joy and fulfillment. Thank you for your love and mercy. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
3. Mother’s Day Prayer for My Mom
Dear Heavenly Father,
On this Mother’s Day, I lift up in prayer all the amazing women who are mothers.
Thank you for the gift of motherhood and for the selfless love and devotion that mothers show to their children. Bless each and every mom with your grace and wisdom, and fill them with the peace and joy of your Holy Spirit.
I pray for mothers who are struggling with the challenges of motherhood that they may –through you- find the strength they need to persevere. And I pray for those who have lost their mothers, that they may find comfort in their memories and in your loving embrace.
Thank you for the love of mothers, and for the blessings they bring into our lives.

4. Prayer of Gratitude for My Mom
Father God,
I want to express my gratitude for my loving mother. I think she’s the best mother ever and I’m so grateful for her! Thank you for the countless ways she has shown me your love.
Thank you for her selflessness and the example she set as your tireless servant all the days of her life.
Through her example, she has taught me so many things! How to love, how to forgive, and how to live a life of integrity.
I thank you for her beautiful spirit, her wisdom, and her unwavering faith in you. May you continue to bless her and keep her in your loving care.

5. Prayer against Loneliness for My Mom
Dear God,
I come before you with a heavy heart on behalf of my widowed mother. You alone know the pain and emptiness that she feels as she walks this road alone.
I pray that you would wrap your loving arms around her and remind her that she is never really alone, for you are always with her.
Help her to find comfort in your presence and in the memories of her husband and my dad. Give her peace and comfort during this difficult time and keep anxious thoughts far away.

6. Prayer for My Single Mom
Merciful Father,
I lift up in prayer the single mom who faces the challenge of raising her children on her own. I pray that you give her the strength, courage, and wisdom she needs to overcome every difficulty of daily life in a powerful way by the infilling of your Holy Spirit.
Grant her the ability to provide for her children emotionally, physically, and spiritually as a single parent. Surround her with your steadfast love and provide help from family, friends and church mentors.
Help her to find her rest in you, Gracious Lord. Help her to know that because of you, she is never alone. Keep your angels in charge over her and surround her with your hedge of protection always.
Always give her peace, joy and hope and fill her with your Holy Spirit.

7. Prayer of Strength for My Aging Mom
Dear Lord Jesus,
I come before you simply to ask for your strength to sustain my aging mother. As she faces the challenges of growing older, I pray with childlike faith that you would give her the physical, emotional, and spiritual strength she needs to persevere and live in divine health for all of her days.
Give this special woman a bright countenance to face each day with hope and confidence. Help her to find joy in the simple pleasures of life for the rest of her days.
May she feel your loving presence with her always, and may she know that she is never alone. Surround her with caring family and friends, and provide her with the care she needs to maintain good health and well-being.

8. Happy Birthday Prayer for My Mom
Blessed Father,
On this special day, I come before you to give thanks for my dear mother on her birthday. Today we celebrate her life and all the spiritual blessings she brings to our family and friends. I pray that you would shower her with your love, grace, and mercy, and I ask for many more encouraging prayers from others for her today.
Bless her with good health, happiness, and many abundant blessings all the days of her life. May she feel surrounded by your love, and may she know how much she is cherished and appreciated.
Thank you for the gift of my mother, and for all the ways she has enriched our lives. We give thanks for her life today and always.

9. Short Prayer for New Memories for My Mom
Dear Lord,
I ask that by the indwelling of your precious Holy Spirit, please give new memories of much joy to my mother and I.
Bring joy to our weary hearts and peace to our spirit. May we walk through this life together in unity of spirit and remember our God as our eternal source of love.
Please bring my mother and I closer. Please bring us times of refreshing.

10. Apology Prayer for Sins against My Mom
Jehovah Shalom, my Lord, my God, my Peace, I have sinned. I have lacked appreciation for the earthly person who brought me into this world.
I sincerely apologize for the pain and heartache I’ve caused my own mother. I pray that I can make amends. May my apology be genuine and thoughtful whether in person or via a phone call.
I pray that my mom sees my efforts in renewal, and we can love each other with forgiveness and glee. From this point on, may we always love each other.
May we love each other day-in and day-out, during all the highs and lows. May we praise You together. In Jesus Name, Amen.
Final Thoughts
Mom doesn’t have to be Wonder Woman.
She doesn’t have to be a Proverbs 31 woman -but she probably is anyway. And she doesn’t have to have the remarkable character of Mary, but she just might!
She can just be mom. She can just be a woman of charm with great faith and a kind heart. And that’s fine.
She is just another great example of a woman with Godly wisdom and unconditional love.
