Maintaining good health is so important. And everybody needs healing some time.
Sometimes we really need a prayer of healing and good health at a special time of need. But maybe we we’re a little unsure of how to say it.
Then how can we learn to pray?
The Bible gives us plenty of examples, from prayers of the Old Testament saints to Jesus Christ teaching the Lord’s Prayer to his disciples.
So it’s great to see how the saints prayed in the Bible. Many saints of old prayed anointed prayers that are so rich with meaning for us today.
When we call upon the Lord of Hosts with our requests, isn’t it wonderful to know that he hears us and has our best interests in mind?
14 And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him. –
1 John 5:14-15
But how do we develop this confidence that we will know to ask according to His will?
The best way is for us to commit to follow our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and read his word and let him know in prayer that we are submitting ourselves to the Father’s will.
Jesus himself prayed to the Father that his Father’s will would prevail:
“Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.”
Luke 22:42, ESV
Giving our will over to the Father is an important key. This kind of attitude unlocks the door to answered prayer.
Let’s be sure to take this attitude into our prayers.
How Do You Pray for Someone’s Good Health?
God’s desire for us is to be healthy and prosperous and to receive what we ask for in prayer.
But since we are fallen people living in a fallen world, things can be challenging and our lives do not always reflect our ideals.
So we need to build each other up in our most holy faith. Here is a prayer for good health that is built on prayers and scriptures straight from the bible.
“Dear Father in heaven, I come before you recognizing that every good and perfect gift comes from you, the Father of lights and in you is no variation or shadow of turning. You alone are the Lord and giver of life, and it is to you alone that I give my praise.
I ask that it go well with the health of my loved one, that she/he may be well and prosper greatly even as his/her soul prospers.
Lord, give my loved one the good medicine of a joyful heart and a fill them with the purpose of a saint who knows they were bought with a price –the price paid in blood by your dear son Jesus Christ.
Fill him/her with the spirit of a believer who knows their body is a temple of the Holy Spirit so he/she glorifies you with a strong and healthy body.
Remind my loved one by your Holy Spirit to diligently listen to your commandments and keep your statutes so they will live in your favor and not get the diseases and maladies of those who revile you.
If my loved one encounters an event that leads to a time of hurting, I ask that you bind up his/her broken heart and heal the wounds.
Lord, give my loved one an ear to hear your sayings, that they may be blessed and learn to keep your Word in their heart.
I ask this in the name of your precious son Jesus, Amen
What is the Most Powerful Healing Prayer?
So many times we can see the breakthrough that leads to healing just by opening our mouth to praise the Living God!
Something special happens that is so powerful that we can see the mountains crumble before us because we were able to sing praises to our Lord before the miracle happened.
Is this why the Lord told the Israelites to send the priests with their trumpets ahead of the army at Jericho? And lead all twelve tribes in a great shout?
I think so. Let’s pray now.
“Dear Heavenly Father, I come before you and worship you. I praise your name and lift my voice, for you are the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords!
I humbly ask that you heal my loved one, for you are my praise and with my praise I unlock the power to heal.
It was by praising you in song and prayer that the disciples saw you break their chains and open prison doors when they were imprisoned for preaching your word and doing your will and seeing the lost get saved.
I now ask that your perfect will be done for my loved one who is in need of healing. I give you all the glory and praise for this miracle that we depend on in you!
We know that by the Jesus’ stripes, we were healed. And this is what I ask for my loved one right now, that by your stripes he/she be healed in Jesus’ name.
You are the Lord who heals and delivers us from destruction and I call on your name to deliver my loved one right now. For you are the Lord who sustains him on his sickbed and in his illness you restore him to full health.
O Lord, restore my loved one to perfect health and forgive all of his sins so that he might live in perfect health all the days of his life.
I ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
What is the Most Powerful Prayer for a Miracle?
Sovereign Lord, I ask that you fill me with your Holy Spirit to do good works of power and of love and of sound mind –and that I might do the works that you do because I go to you and you go to the Father.
We need miracles today, Lord.
Transform us by the renewing of our minds, so that by testing we may discern your will, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
Bring us to that place of humility where we place our total trust and confidence in you and receive all you want for us right here and now.
Bring the whole church –the Body of Christ- to the place of anointing where miracles happen because of our love for -and closeness to- you!
Make us like living stones being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to you through our great Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
How Do You Say a Protection Prayer?
Father God, thank you for your faithfulness and loving kindness. Thank you for keeping your angels in charge over me and my loved ones both day and night.
You are my refuge and my fortress –my strong tower –my God in whom I trust. You deliver me from the snare of the fowler and the deadly pestilence.
You cover me with your feathers and you anoint my head with oil. Your faithfulness is my shield and fortress.
You prepare a banquet for me in front of those who would do me harm. I am vindicated before them and they cannot harm me.
I am constantly grateful to you. You rejoice over me with singing!
You are mighty to save!
You destroy the oppressors and restore the fortunes of the downtrodden, and you have lifted up my head and brought me out of the depths.
You restore what the locusts have eaten!
You O Lord are faithful and you guard me against the evil one. No weapon that is formed against me will prosper.
I know that you will not leave me or forsake me, so I remain strong, courageous and confident.
No tongue that rises against me will succeed. Every tongue that says evil things about me will be silenced.
And no bad report will discourage me.
Final Thoughts
The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the Old Testament is the same yesterday, today and forever.
He is the same God who sent his only Son Jesus Christ into the world to usher in “a new covenant in my blood.”
Jesus came not to condemn the world, but that by him the world would be saved. When Jesus was asked by his disciples to teach them to pray, he taught them the Lord’s Prayer.
